Dojo Aims
Kenshinkan Dojo was brought about to teach
the Japanese Martial Arts and culture through the practice of Muso Jikiden
Eishin Ryu Iaijutsu. An ancient Japanese art of drawing the sword and cutting
in a single movement.
The
goal of the practice is to attain perfection on a physical and technical level.
As perfection is the aim, the way towards will be a long and difficult one.
The
specific character of this martial art makes it accessible for all ages and
gender, although certain maturity is needed to start serious practicing.
The
secret of Iai-do is a calm but strong mind. It is said that the sword is like
the mind, and if the sword is straight the mind must be alike.
Kenshinkan Dojo is honoured to be the
first Dojo in the UK and Europe to become part of the Japanese Budo
Association, and to grow in both clubs and styles of Japanese Budo in the
future by promoting and supporting the Japanese Budo Association (JBA) within
the UK and Europe.
